Hotspots & CTAs
Hotspots are interactive elements that can be added to various parts of your virtual environment within Virtual Hive. They act as clickable icons or buttons that viewers can interact with during a presentation or while watching a video (depending on the button's associated content, viewers may navigate to other meeting rooms or external content). These hotspots are overlaid on the content and can be linked to external resources, other pages within the platform, downloadable files, or even to initiate contact forms or surveys.
Functionality of Hotspots
Directing Viewers to More Content: Hotspots can direct viewers to additional information that complements your presentation. This could be detailed product specifications, extended reading materials, or supplementary video content.
Enhancing Engagement: By incorporating interactive hotspots, viewers are encouraged to engage with the content actively rather than passively consuming information.
Encouraging Actions: Hotspots can serve as calls to action (CTAs) for the viewer to register for events, contact sales or support teams, download resources, or move to a purchase page.
Setting up Your Hotspots
To add hotspots:
Pick a spot next to your video or presentation where you want to offer more info.
Use the existing buttons placed inside the admin panel of the given presenter room - you activate them by clicking on them.
Label your button with a clear, concise call to action (CTA). The text on your hotspot should be direct and action-oriented, such as "Explore More," "Download Now," or "Get in Touch."
Before going live, test the hotspots to ensure they link to the correct resources and that the user experience is smooth and intuitive.

Where to Place Them
Place hotspots where they're most relevant. If you're talking about a specific product feature in a webinar, put a hotspot right there that leads to a product spec sheet or a demo video.
Design
Design matters even for functional buttons. Make sure they’re visible against the background, but avoid making them so loud that they disrupt the viewing experience. The images from the Virtual Hive webinar room show you how hotspots can blend in naturally. For customers on Pro and beyond have the possibility of changing the colours of the buttons as well.
Multilingual Options
If you’ve got an international audience, add language options to your hotspots. Virtual Hive lets you do that so everyone can get the info they need in the language they prefer.

Checking the Clicks
Virtual Hive tracks clicks, so you’ll know which hotspots are hot and which are not. This helps you understand what info your audience is most interested in. Virtual Hive provides analytics on how viewers interact with your hotspots. You can track:
The number of clicks per hotspot
The conversion rate of CTAs in terms of how many has entered a certain room versus clicked the given button.
Viewer engagement time post-click
This data allows you to refine your strategy, understanding what types of content and calls to action resonate with your audience.
In a Nutshell
Hotspots turn a static viewing experience into an interactive one. They can provide further information, collect feedback on content consumption, or lead to other engagement opportunities. Place them thoughtfully, make them clear, and use the data you gather to continuously improve the interactive elements you provide.
