Benefits

Global Reach: A multi-language platform enables you to reach a global audience, breaking language barriers and expanding your reach to individuals worldwide. This increases the visibility and accessibility of your content and events.

Improved User Experience: By offering content in multiple languages, you enhance the user experience, making it more inclusive and personalised. Users can access information and participate in events in their preferred language, leading to increased engagement and satisfaction.

Enhanced Knowledge Sharing: Multi-language support facilitates knowledge sharing among individuals from different linguistic backgrounds. It encourages collaboration, idea exchange, and the formation of diverse communities centered around shared interests.

Cultural Adaptation: A multi-language platform allows you to adapt your content and events to different cultures and regions. By providing localised experiences, you can better resonate with your audience and demonstrate cultural sensitivity.

Competitive Advantage: Offering multi-language functionality gives you a competitive edge over platforms that are limited to a single language. It enables you to tap into untapped markets, attract international users, and position yourself as a global player.

Increased Revenue Opportunities: With a multi-language platform, you can monetise your content and events by targeting specific language markets. By expanding your user base globally, you open up new revenue streams through subscriptions, sponsorships, advertisements, or partnerships.

Language-Specific Content Curation: Multi-language functionality allows you to curate and present content tailored to different language communities. This enables you to deliver relevant and localised information, ensuring that users find value in your platform.

Increased Collaboration Opportunities: A multi-language platform fosters collaboration between individuals who speak different languages. It facilitates cross-cultural exchanges, joint projects, and partnerships, promoting diversity and innovation.

Positive Brand Image: By providing a multi-language platform, you demonstrate your commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and global accessibility. This enhances your brand image and fosters a positive perception among users who value these attributes.

Long-Term Growth and Scalability: Incorporating multi-language functionality prepares your platform for long-term growth and scalability. As your user base expands globally, you can easily accommodate new languages, regions, and communities without significant technical hurdles.

Risks

Global Reach: Without multi-language functionality, you limit your audience to those who understand a specific language, potentially missing out on opportunities to engage with diverse communities and markets.

Improved User Experience: Lack of multi-language support may result in a poor user experience, leading to frustration, disengagement, and reduced interest in your platform.

Enhanced Knowledge Sharing: Without multi-language functionality, you restrict knowledge sharing to specific language groups, limiting the diversity of perspectives and insights available on your platform.

Cultural Adaptation: In the absence of multi-language capabilities, your platform may appear less culturally aware, leading to misunderstandings, misinterpretations, and potential offence to users from different cultural backgrounds.

Competitive Advantage: Not providing multi-language support may result in losing potential users to competitors who offer a more inclusive and accessible experience.

Increased Revenue OpportunitiesThe lack of multi-language support may limit your revenue potential, as you are unable to cater to the needs and preferences of international markets effectively.

Language-Specific Content Curation: Without multi-language capabilities, you may struggle to cater to the diverse interests and preferences of users from different language backgrounds, leading to decreased engagement and relevance.

Increased Collaboration Opportunities: The absence of multi-language support may hinder collaboration between individuals from different linguistic backgrounds, limiting the potential for cross-pollination of ideas and limiting the scope of collaborative initiatives.

Positive Brand ImageWithout multi-language functionality, your brand may be seen as exclusionary or limited in its reach, potentially resulting in a negative reputation and reduced user trust.

Long-Term Growth and Scalability: Neglecting multi-language support may limit your platform's ability to scale and adapt to evolving user needs, hindering its potential for sustained growth and development.

The Feature

How it works?

The multi-language functionality is a two-layer component that ensures a seamless experience for guests accessing virtual meetings through their browsers. On the admin side, administrators can configure the desired languages for the meeting setup. There is a default language, typically English, which can be changed if needed. Additional languages, for instance, French, German, and/or Dutch can be enabled as well.

The static components, such as the menu structure and primary navigation, come with language bundles. The language adaptability dynamically changes based on the user's browser settings. For example, if a German user accesses the meeting and the administrator has enabled German as a language option, the interface will automatically switch to German.

Dynamic components, including navigational hotspots, can be customised to any language without limitations. This allows for differentiated content presentation tailored to specific audiences.

When uploading videos, they are initially set to the default language. However, there is an option to upload the same video in other languages and associate it with the corresponding additional languages.

Pre-recorded: Real-world examples highlight the practical application of this functionality. For instance, a Canadian entity of the German pharmaceutical company, Bayer AG, utilised the multi-language model to cater to their French and English-speaking employees. They embedded their Vimeo™️ account separately for each language, allowing employees to choose their preferred language for viewing content. The same approach was taken for pictures and images.

Live-stream: In another case, Velux, one of Denmark's largest companies, utilised a third-party tool called Interprefy™️ to provide live-stream video/audio content simultaneously translated into three additional languages (Italian, French, and German) from the English standard. Guests had the option to actively select their preferred language or let the browser decide it.
